In 2023, Beijing's industrial enterprises above the designated size registered a combined revenue of 2.78 trillion yuan (US$387.07 billion), up 3.6% year on year, according to data released by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics on Monday. Their total profit reached 169.23 billion yuan, down 12.9% year on year.

Among 37 industrial categories, 19 saw increases in profit. Specifically, the power and heating industry achieved a total profit of 50.92 billion yuan. The auto manufacturing industry realized a total profit of 27.47 billion yuan. The pharmaceutical industry and specialized equipment manufacturing industry logged profits of 19.9 billion yuan and 10.84 billion yuan, respectively. The industry of computer, telecommunication, and other electronic devices reported a profit of 9.33 billion yuan.

The city's medium and large enterprises made profit of 140.82 billion yuan in total. Foreign-invested enterprises and Hong Kong-, Macau-, and Taiwan-invested companies earned 73.02 billion yuan in profit.
