Over the past 10 years, a total of 15.96 million jobs were created in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, with 3.16 million jobs added in Beijing, 4.41 million in Tianjin, and 8.38 million in Hebei province, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics.
In 2022, 29.34 million employed residents in the region worked in the tertiary industry, accounting for 55% of the total, up 12.8 percentage points from 2013.
With a total population of over 100 million, the region boasts the advantage of integrated development through the geographical proximity and cultural bond between the cities and province.
In Beijing, 36% of the workforce are employed in three industries: the information transmission, software, and information technology service industry, the leasing and business services industry, and the scientific research and technology service industry.
In Tianjin, an increasing number of people have been employed in the leasing and business services industry, the information transmission, software and information technology service industry, and the financial industry, with each number growing more than 70% since 2013. In Hebei province, more jobs have been created in service industries.
