China should strengthen its private economy to drive high-quality development across the board, according to Huang Maoxing, a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress (NPC).

In recent years, China has introduced a series of significant policies to boost its private sector.

The report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stated that it is essential to "provide an enabling environment for private enterprises, protect their property rights and the rights and interests of entrepreneurs in accordance with the law, and facilitate the growth of the private sector."

Huang, also vice president of the Fujian Academy of Social Sciences, considers the private economy crucial for China's modernization and its second centenary goal.

"In the new era, we must prioritize innovation-driven development, upgrade industries, and encourage private enterprises to shift towards high-end, intelligent, and eco-friendly operations," stated Huang.

Working with the Fujian Federation of Industry and Commerce, Huang's team has produced annual reports on Fujian's top 100 private enterprises for five consecutive years, providing insights into the sector's high-quality development.

Huang emphasized that a conducive business environment is fundamental to the survival and development of enterprises.

He advocated for promoting orderly competition, eliminating market entry barriers, ensuring fair competition, and establishing a legal framework that equally protects all types of property ownership.
