Shanghai aims to be nexus of emerging industries

Shanghai will make greater efforts to become an innovation hub for emerging industries, said Mayor Gong Zheng at a news conference Thursday. In 2023, the combined value of the city's integrated circuits, biomedicine, and AI sectors reached 1.6 trillion yuan (US$221.37 billion).
