The Fengtai District Commercial Bureau of Beijing held a press conference Thursday to introduce a consumer goods trade-in initiative. The district authority brought together enterprises specializing in home appliances, furniture, home décor, and automobiles to unveil a series of subsidy measures totaling over 100 million yuan (US$13.84 million).

Numerous home appliance and furniture retailers are participating in the trade-in program. For instance, Red Star Macalline, a home improvement retailer, announced that it will initiate a home appliance recycling program for air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, televisions, and other home appliances.

Suning.com's Yangqiao Store announced trade-in subsidies for old devices, instant discounts for new purchases, and payment discounts, with the highest subsidy reaching 4,000 yuan. Autohome, an online car sales platform, introduced a special subsidy of up to 4,800 yuan covering Fengtai consumers. Fengtai's local content consumption platform Zhi-Tech Group announced that it will utilize its channels to aggregate green goods options and distinctive brand resources in Fengtai district, offering discount incentives for residents.

"We will continue to establish platforms for enterprises to enhance their service models both online and offline, with the goal of introducing more high-quality and durable consumer goods," said an official from the district commercial bureau.
