A total of 717 brands opened their first stores in Beijing in the first three quarters of 2024, according to the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau.
Since Beijing began building an international consumption hub three years ago, it has attracted nearly 4,000 brands to open their first stores in the Chinese capital.
Among these 717 stores, retail and dining establishments account for nearly 90%.
In addition to a variety of first stores from domestic brands opening in major shopping centers, many international brands have also been opening their first stores in Beijing. Of the 717 first stores, 105 are international brands, marking a 40% increase compared to the same period last year.
As Beijing's commercial infrastructure continues to improve and upgrade, more and more of these flagship stores are opening across the city instead of concentrating in certain districts.
