Billions in Goods Imported from Hong Kong Through CEPA

According to the General Administration of Customs in China, Hong Kong exports to Chinese mainland under the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) totaled as much as US$1.07 billion in terms of value by May 31, 2007.

The number of Hong Kong goods enjoying zero tariffs in mainland under CEPA increased from 374 in 2004 to 1448 in 2007, covering almost all the current native industries in Hong Kong. At present, there are 23 ports on the Chinese mainland that can import Hong Kong goods under CEPA.
