Horse-riding fancier Xu goes to work by riding a horse in Changzhou city, Jiangsu Province. |
The man, surnamed Xu, works in a Japanese company, and he used to drive five minutes to work every day.
When asked why he chose this method instead, he said he was a horseback-ride fancier and loved horses very much. He went to see his friend for riding once he discovered that his friend raised horses. Xu remembered that he appeared at a wedding of one of his friends on October 4 by riding a horse, surprising all the members attending the wedding.
"Everyone was attracted and looked at me with curiosity," said Xu. Since then, he always deals with the commute to work by riding a horse, and he even received a piece of grassland given to him by his boss.
Can citizens ride horses on the road? Does it impact the other people and vehicles? An officer from the traffic management office of Changzhou explained with surprise that the only example he knew of was of a horse-riding policeman in Dalian, Liaoning Province. China has no laws ruling that one can not ride a horse on the road as long as they are not in the car lanes. Though the case with Xu is still only the first, people should not follow his example for safety's sake, the officer said.
