A publicity official fell to his death from an office building in the city of Honghu in central Hubei Province on Wednesday, local authorities said.

Lu Huajun, head of the Information Division under the Publicity Department of the CPC (Communist Party of China) Honghu Municipal Committee, fell from the seventh floor of the committee's office building at about 8 a.m., a spokesman with the Publicity Department said.

Local authorities are investigating Lu's death, the spokesman said.
