Infectious diseases killed 1,757 people on the Chinese mainland in Dec. 2011, Ministry of Health (MOH) said Friday.
The MOH said viral hepatitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, syphilis, dysentery and scarlet fever were the five deadliest diseases last month. A total of 601,574 infectious disease cases were reported during the month, it said.
