One man in Guangzhou was sentenced to six years after being found guilty of assisting in killing an escaping thief, New Express Daily reported.

The man surnamed Zhang had lodged an appeal, arguing that it was those who pursued the thief who beat him to death, and that his role was at most an accomplice. The principal who turned himself in was granted a three-year probation for his three-year prison term.
