Four people, including a pregnant woman who was about to labor, died and two were injured when a car crashed head-on with a taxi in the northwestern Shaanxi Province, but the woman's baby survived.
The woman died despite rescue efforts made by medical staff in a Fugu County hospital, but her baby was delivered through a c-section surgery, local media reported today.
The taxi driver was taking his wife, his two children, his brother and the pregnant sister-in-law to hospital to deliver the baby when their car collided head-on with a SUV on January 27.
