Luo was the president and general manager of Shenyang Aircraft Corp, a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corp. of China.

Luo died just on the day when the J-15 completed a successful landing on China’s first aircraft carrier, Liaoning.

The J-15 is capable of firing anti-ship, air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles and precision guided bombs. Military experts believe its capabilities are comparable to Russia's Sukhoi Su-33 and the US F/A-18 Hornet.

Since formally entering into service on Sept. 25, Liaoning’s crew members have completed more than 100 training and test programs, Xinhua News Agency reported.
