In order to set an example by personally promoting the use of electric vehicles, Shenzhen Party Secretary Wang Rong has traded in his Audi A6 for the BYD E6 electromobile to make his daily commute to work, the Nanfang Metropolis Daily reported.

Yesterday, a reporter with the Nanfang Metropolis Daily noticed Wang leaving the Shenzhen National People's Congress by private BYD E6. According to an insider, Wang has been using this car to go about his daily official business for quite some time now.

At present, the price for purchasing an electromobile is similar to that of the Audi A6. However, an electric vehicle will save a lot in daily use.

So far, except for Wang , other municipal leaders haven’t traded in their cars for an electromobile just yet.
