Hao Peng elected governor of Qinghai Province

Hao Peng was elected governor of northwest China's Qinghai Province on Sunday at the second session of the 12th Qinghai Provincial People's Congress, the local legislature.

Hao, 53, served as vice secretary of the Tibetan regional committee of the Communist Party of China for over six years before being appointed as deputy Party chief of neighboring Qinghai Province in March this year.

He was appointed Qinghai's acting governor on March 28.

Luo Huining, secretary of the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, was elected director of the Standing Committee of the Qinghai Provincial People's Congress at the same meeting.
