The Beijing Public Security Bureau also denied rumors that some of the suspects have powerful family backgrounds and planed to settle the case out of court.

They confirmed that they have handled the case abiding by related laws.

Since four of the five suspects are minors, their personal information, such as name, location, photo and materials indicating their identity, will not be released based on China's laws on protecting minors.

However, the gang-raping case has swept the internet as one of the minor suspect is the son of a famous singer and army general.
