The teenage son of famous military singer Li Shuangjiang, Li Tianyi, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for gang rape on Thursday at a Beijing court.

The Beijing's Haidian District People's Court also sentenced Li's accomplices.
The prosecutors accused the 5 young defendants of assaulting and gang-raping a woman surnamed Yang, at a Beijing hotel on February 17. Li is reportedly the only one who pleaded not guilty during his trial in August.
Li Tianyi's lead defense attorney said that Li plans to appeal.
According to the court, the five defendants went to a bar and the bar attendant arranged for two girls to entertain them in the early morning of February 17, 2013. After the party, one drunken girl went with the young men to another location for some food.
In the car, the girl saw that the bar attendant wasn't there and wanted to get out. Despite her cries and stuggles, the men forcefully restrained her using force and beat her. They later took her to a hotel room and gang raped her, after which they gave her 2,000 yuan and left her at the road side.
The five men were detained on February 21 after the girl, reported the crime to the police.
According to an inside source, one of the defendants, surnamed Wei, helped the police arrest his accomplices, so his punishment was mitigated.
After the verdict and sentence, two of the defendants, Li and Wang refused to admit their crimes. As Li showed no remorse, the court gave him a stricter sentence.
The other three accomplices plead guilty and reached a settlement with the girl, who has accepted the compensation and gave up charges against them. But she reportedly asked the court to punish Li and Wang harshly.
Li is son of a famous Chinese army singing couple, 74-year-old Li Shuangjiang, and his wife Meng Ge. It is not the first time that he has been in trouble. Two years ago, he and another teenager attacked a couple who allegedly blocked their driveway near the entrance of a residential community in Beijing. He sent to a government correctional facility for one year.
