A 32-year-old woman stole a newborn baby out of a hospital in Xiangtan city, Hunan province, Beijing Times reported. Pretending to be a family member of the new mother, she stayed two nights in the patient room before she took the baby, about 5:00 am on Friday, when the baby's family were asleep.

The woman, surnamed Yi, said she has been married for eight years but can't have a baby herself. She came to the local police station to confess Sunday and brought the baby back, the report said.
