Torrential rains to hit south China

Torrential rains will hit parts of south China and a cold front is to affect north China on Saturday, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said early Saturday.

While heavy rains will end in some parts of south China in the next three days, torrential rains will continue in Zhejiang, Hunan and Guangdong provinces and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Saturday, the NMC said.

Moderate to heavy rains would sweep parts of regions to the south of the Yangtze River, the northern and western parts of south China, it added.

The country's weather observatory also forecast a strong cold front to affect parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northeast China and north China, where temperatures will drop by as much as 10 degrees Celsius, it said.
