A smart condom seller has recently began service in Zhengzhou, Henan province, allowing buyers to get free-charged goods by simply scanning their ID cards, local website dahe.cn reports.

One machine contains 80 boxes with 10 condoms in each box. Citizens aged between 18 and 60 can buy one box each month with their ID cards.

Previously, condoms sold through machine sellers were priced at one yuan each.

To assuage worries about private information leak, Liu Tinglan from the municipal health and family planning bureau, said all personal information will be transferred directly to the national health and family planning authorities with the first name and the middle part of the ID number concealed.

The new selling machines are also much cleverer than old sets, according to Wang Nan from Jinshui district health and family planning department.

It can send a text message to its operator if it didn't work or ran out of products.
