At least two people have been killed as multiple explosions are reported in Luntai County of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, reports ts.cn, the official web portal of the regional government.

Dozens of others have been injured.

The blasts came after local authorities in Xinjiang listed seventeen officials and police officers who received penalties for not adequately doing their duty.

In July, a terror attack in Shache County left 37 civilians dead and 94 injured.

A 74-year-old religious leader was also murdered following the attack.
