China has published a book on preventing and treating common diseases in Africa, highlighting the Ebola virus that is raging through the west of the continent.

"Prevention and Treatment of Common Diseases in Africa" was co-published by Zhejiang Science and Technology Press and Gabon's NTSAME publishing house, under the instruction of China's State Council Information Office.

Co-authored by experts of the World Health Organization and Chinese medical staff in Gabon, it covers Ebola, malaria, AIDS and typhoid in simple language.

The State Council Information Office is distributing the books to African countries for free.
