The bullets hidden, in a package, were seized by Customs officials in the capital Jinan.

Two imitation handguns and an air gun were also found after the man was arrested.

Li Qiang is a Customs officer of the anti-smuggling department.

"The airgun found from the suspect's home is a Gemo sporting rifle made in Spain. Its shooting range reaches about 150 meters, much larger than the range of normal handguns."

The man himself confessed that the bullets can be fired by the imitation handguns after some simple alteration to the barrels.

Further investigation is underway.
