Dangerous journey to school

Twenty-two students in Bajiaomiao village of Hanzhong, Northwest China's Shaanxi province, set off at 6:30 am, winding across steep mountain road and several rivers before arriving at school in a neighboring village, at around 8:30 am, half hour later than the school hour, at subzero temperatures, hsw.cn reported.

The students have been walking four kilometers, including two-kilometer-long rugged mountain road, to school every day for more than 10 years.

A villager said the road is very dangerous as some students fall into the rivers, with the latest accident occurring in Dec.

The local authorities said a road project linking students' home and the school is mapping out.
