China's Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun on Friday urged police at all levels, especially in the grassroots, to be prepared for terrorist attacks.

Guo, also State Councilor and leader of the national anti-terrorist working group, on Friday made an inspection tour in north China's port city Tianjin, where he visited a railway station, food market and some densely populated venues to check security work, asking grassroots police stations about the management and services for the transient population.

He urged police at all levels to be mindful of the danger of terrorist attacks, strengthening prevention and crackdown on terrorists, taking advantage of IT technology in the grassroots level to collect and analyze information in a bid to enhance the police's early-warning ability.

He also called for strengthened prevention and control of the public security.
