Suspect of fishing boat murder caught in E China

A suspect in the murder of five fishing boat crew in Zhoushan City in east China's Zhejiang Province was detained early Saturday morning in Suzhou, Jiangsu, the police said.

A patrolman noticed a man acting suspicious at around 1 a.m. near a textile factory in Wujiang District. He accompanied the suspect, Fang Zhongyue, to the local public security bureau for questioning.

During questioning, Fang confessed that he had murdered his fellow crew members.

Five men were found dead early Thursday morning aboard a fishing vessel. Fang, however, was missing, along with a life raft, according to Putuo District Police. The five victims, aged 31 to 53, have been identified as residents of Putuo.
