Tourism, as one of the seven important industries in Hengqin, has brought a great deal of economic benefits over the years. Moreover, Hengqin aims to become an international city and develop its tourism industry with a number of leading enterprises. It's expected that a number of large tourism projects will be introduced to Hengqin in the future.

For example, the Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort has been a great success in recent years. As the world's largest marine-themed resort, it was opened on March 29, 2014, with the first-phase of investment reaching 20 billion yuan. Now, the Zhuhai Hengqin Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, Hengqin Bay Hotel, Chimelong Penguin Hotel, Chimelong Circus Hotel and Chimelong Circus Town in the resort have altogether promoted Hengqin as an important part of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao tourism area.

The Zhuhai Hengqin Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, with a great amount of rare marine creatures, showcases top amusement equipment and new large-scale performing arts; the resort also boasts seven Guinness World Records.

Like many of the world's top tourist destinations, Hengqin also expects to provide comprehensive services for the public. The Chimelong Circus Town, with nearly 8,000 seats inside, is considered the world's most advanced professional circus venue and has offered a great amount of visual feasts for the public. The Chimelong Group has successfully hosted two sessions of China International Circus Festivals. This has helped more people learn about circus culture and made Hengqin a special international tourist city.

According to statistics, the Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort has attracted 25 million tourists since it was officially opened two years ago. As the leading enterprise promoting the local tourism industry, the Chimelong Group promotes not only economic development but also cultural industries. This has made Hengqin Island more charming and lively.

"To develop leisure and tourism, we need both more travel products and personalized innovation," said Li Bin, director of a business center in Hengqin. In 2015, the Chimelong Group launched the second phase of its projects, including a 300-hectare wild animal kingdom. It will enable tourists to watch wild animals both day and night. This may become the latest trend of wildlife-themed parks throughout the world.

"At present, Hengqin has signed with the Galaxy Entertainment Macao Group to build the world-class Jiahua sports and leisure project, boasting a total investment of ten billion yuan. It's expected that it will become another leading tourism company in Hengqin."
