296 tourists trapped after heavy rainfall flooded China's Gansu

At least 296 tourists were trapped after flood swept through Huanghe Shilin tourist spot on Saturday night in Jingtai County, Baiyin City in northwestern China's Gansu Province.

The flood was caused by heavy rains that started from about 5:40 p.m. Saturday evening. After 20 minutes, the widespread flooding poured from Yinmagou Grand Canyon to the Yellow River, washing away four cars as well as some infrastructures.

Emergency rescue plans have been activated by local government after the flooding, and tourists are being evacuated gradually.
