5.0-magnitude quake hits Taiwan: CENC

A 5.0-magnitude earthquake jolted waters near Hualien County of Taiwan at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

The epicenter was monitored at 23.98 degrees north latitude and 121.79 degrees east longitude, the center said in a statement. The quake struck at a depth of 13 km.
