The Bureau of Exit and Entry Administration of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau has installed quick pay systems to allow applicants to pay fees using their smart phones.

Beginning on March 15, visitors to the bureau locations in the city can pay fees by scanning an integrated QR code with their smart phones using multiple mobile payment apps.

According to officials with the Bureau of Exit and Entry Administration, the QR code payment is now available to all the exit and entry applications, including exit and entry certificates applications for Chinese mainland residents and Hong Kong and Macao residents, as well as visa applications for foreign visitors. A number of mobile payment platforms are applicable to the upgraded system, including WeChat, Alipay, e-ICBC, UnionPay and JDPay. The automated machines for submitting applications have also been upgraded to support quick pay.

The QR code is printed on the receipts received upon processing the exit and entry certificates applications, which is unique to each applicant. Local authorities remind applicants that each code is only valid on the same day the application is processed, and would expire the next day or when the payment is completed. Applicants are advised to complete the payment timely, or they can pay the cashiers for the applications at the exit and entry administration service venues if the QR code expires.
