An exhibition of China's intangible cultural heritage is set to debut with 28 on-site shows and interactive events at the fifth China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services, scheduled for May 28 to June 1.

The exhibition, named "China's Intangible Cultural Heritage Goes Global," is hosted by the Center of Orient Chinese Cultural Heritage Protection and organized by Beijing Xunlitongqiao Culture, Science and Technology Co. Ltd. Seven items, or "elements," from UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as well as over 60 representations of national or provincial intangible cultural heritage will be showcased through pictures, scripts, videos, exhibits, models and 28 interactive activities. A total of 1,372 national intangible cultural heritage elements will also be displayed through digital maps and database. The exhibition will be divided into six sections — "Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Digital Era," "Kaili, Guizhou," "Rongchang, Chongqing," "Yaozhou, Shaanxi," "Yibin, Sichuan" and "Chinese Tea Culture."

Two new resources will also be unveiled at the forum: "Report on the Global Promotion of China's Intangible Cultural Heritage," and "China Memory: Basic Resources Database for Traditional Chinese Culture and Arts." A beta version of the platform for global promotion of China's intangible cultural heritage will be released at the same time to encourage cultural exchanges, industry upgrading and international brand marketing.
