The World Health Organization's (WHO) handling of Taiwan-related issue in accordance with the one-China principle is highly appreciated, a spokesperson said Tuesday.

An Fengshan, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, made the comments after the World Health Assembly (WHA) decided not to include a proposal to make Taiwan an observer in the conference's provisional agenda.

An said the one-China principle is a universal consensus shared by the international community.

"We highly appreciate the WHO handling Taiwan-related issue in accordance with the one-China principle established in the UN General Assembly Resolution 2758 and WHA Resolution 25.1," An said.
