Chinese political advisors gathered in Beijing on Tuesday to offer suggestions for poverty alleviation in areas of deep poverty.

Fourteen members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) addressed a plenary meeting of the second session of the Standing Committee of the 13th CPPCC National Committee.

Their proposals cover areas including policy support, use of poverty relief funds, measures to boost e-commerce in rural areas, and basic medical insurance for poor people.

Wang Yang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and chairman of the 13th CPPCC National Committee, was present at Tuesday's meeting.

Political advisors also heard explanations about personnel changes at the meeting.
