Beijing on Monday unveiled a three-year action plan (2018-2020) to boost coordinated development with its neighboring Tianjin municipality and Hebei province.

According to the plan, released by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Development and Reform, the Chinese capital will strengthen links between its sub-center in Tongzhou district and Xiongan New Area in Hebei as the location for Beijing's non-capital functions.

Beijing plans to coordinate its policies with Xiongan's development and implement the strategic cooperation agreements with Hebei province. It will support the building of three new schools, a new hospital, the Zhongguancun Science Park in Xiongan, as well as the Beijing-Xiongan Intercity Railway.

The development and reform commission said Beijing's outstanding education and medical resources, such as Beijing No. 4 High School, Shijiahutong Elementary School, Beihai Kindergarten and Xuanwu Hospital, will offer support to new public service providers in Xiongan.

In the first half of this year, a total of twelve Zhongguancun-based companies have established operations in Xiongan's new park. Meanwhile, the intercity railway is now under construction, and will be put into use next September.

According to the plan, Beijing will also push forward the construction of facilities for its sub-center to improve its diversified functions and capacity, and integrate city planning in Tongzhou district with the three northern counties in Hebei's Langfang.
