Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province cracked four drug cases in three days earlier this month, the local public security department said Tuesday.

A total of 112.23 kg of drugs were seized and five suspects were caught, police in the city of Lincang said.

On Aug. 9, one suspect was seized, with 16 kg of methamphetamine confiscated from his van near the national border. On Aug. 10, police raided two drug gangs, seizing 4.15 kg of heroin, 8.53 kg of methamphetamine, and 25 packages of methamphetamine weighting 25.55 kg in total. Two suspected were detained, police said.

Another two drug traffickers were caught the next day, with 58 kg of methamphetamine seized in a hotel at Kangzhen County.

Further investigation is underway.

Yunnan is the focal point of the national anti-drug campaign as it borders the Golden Triangle, known for drug production and trafficking.
