World Winter Sports Expo to be held in September

The World Winter Sports (Beijing) Expo 2018 will be held in the Chinese capital from Sept. 19 to 22.

Themed "The Power of Ice and Snow," this year's expo is expected to attract more than 500 Chinese and foreign brands to the event and showcase the winter sports and related industries in various ways, including exhibitions, forums, and promotional events. 

Gao Yunchao, deputy secretary-general of the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, said that Beijing will seize the opportunity of hosting the 2022 Winter Olympics to popularize winter sports in the country. 

The expo will also launch an international think tank project, inviting experts and scholars in the winter sports industry. A special area will be set up for conferencing between online business partners. The expo will help to build the "Beijing-Zhangjiakou cultural tourism belt" and an international winter sports media alliance. 

The exhibition area will feature information and displays regarding the Winter Olympics, delegations from various countries and international organizations, winter sports technology, roller skating and the related equipment, winter tourism, as well as winter sports culture. The forums will cover topics such as the winter sports industry, the Winter Olympics and city development, post-games legacies, popularizing winter sports among young people, etc. 

This year's expo will hold more than 20 forums and events. More than 500 brands from over 20 countries will attend the expo. The event will host nearly 24,000 professional participants, while the number of audience is expected to reach 150,000.
