A total of 100 Beijing-based companies made this year's Top 500 Chinese Enterprises list, two more than the previous year, according to the annual ranking released by the China Enterprise Confederation and the China Enterprise Directors Association.

The number of Beijing-based companies continues to top the list, and the Beijing Automotive Group Co. Ltd ranked first among Beijing companies on the list, making the 31st place this year.

The company revenue threshold for making the list this year was 30.69 billion yuan (US$4.48 billion), up 2.38 billion yuan from last year.

Beijing also saw more innovative companies and business services companies on the list, with the proportion of it rising 7 percentage points over last year.

Nine enterprises, including Xiaomi Corporation, Beijing Electronics Holding Co. Ltd., and NetEase Inc., made the list for the first time.

According to this year's report, the total operating income of the top 500 enterprises stood at 71.17 trillion yuan, up 11.2 percent from a year earlier. And 107 of them made the Global 500 list. Most of the 500 companies saw increases in the growth rate of revenues and total profits, suggesting good results from China's supply-side structural reform.
