The Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday finished releasing the list of progress made by 30 regions and entities inspected in the first round of disciplinary inspection by the 19th CPC Central Committee.

Starting in late February, 15 inspection teams stayed in Party organizations in 14 provincial-level regions, eight central government agencies and eight centrally-administered state-owned enterprises for inspection until late May.

According to the list made public on the website of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, some of the inspected regions have taken a strong hand on corruption and bad conduct.

In eastern Shandong Province, 3,095 have been punished for such problems since the round of inspection, while 12,098 were punished in Hunan Province for corruption and bad conduct in poverty alleviation from January to August.

Others made efforts to erase the influence of punished former officials.

Infringements of the public interest or involving criminal gangs have also been a target, with Shanxi Province launching a campaign to bust crimes related to antiques.

Hainan Province has focused on problems the public detest, such as illicit monopolies in certain markets and drug trafficking.

The second round of disciplinary inspection by the 19th CPC Central Committee is underway.
