With an overarching theme of "New Dynamics, New Development, New Achievements Empowered by Information," the summit aims to promote a modern economic system countrywide through high-quality development, modernization of the national governance system, strength in cyberspace, building a digital nation and a smart society, said Yang Xiaowei, deputy director of the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC).

Speaking at an April 2 press conference, Yang stated that this development will allow the public to share the fruits of reform and opening-up.

The second Digital China Summit aims to serve as a platform to issue China's policies on IT development, display the achievements of e-government and digital economy, and exchange theoretical and practical experiences in building a digital China, said Yang.

The summit will consist of forums, an exhibition and an innovation contest, Yang said, naming sub-forum themes including digital health, network technology, satellite applications, digital ecology, and industrial internet.

The summit is co-organized by the CAC, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Fujian People's Government.
