Two social organizations have been established in Beijing as branches of the Chinese Aging Well Association (CAWA), to foster more talent to meet China's growing demand for such people in the aging industry.

The newly established "Commission of Talent for Integration of Medical and Elderly Care" and "Science and Technology Commission for Elderly Wellbeing" will integrate and mobilize first-class domestic and overseas resources related to science and technology, education and the aging industry, to contribute to building a "Healthy China," said Director of CAWA Liu Yuanli.

The commissions will help train more application-oriented talent and build a platform for talent cultivation to deal with the talent shortage facing China's aging industry.

It is anticipated that by 2026, elderly people at the age of 65 and above will account for more than 14 percent of the total population, marking China crosses the threshold of an aging society, Liu said.
