It is the former residence of Pu Yi, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is now a historic building under special protection in Tianjin and a national 3A tourist area. It was built in 1921 as Qian Garden and was later renamed as Serenity Garden after Pu Yi moved there in July 1929. There is an exhibition hall of Pu Yi, with more than 100 pictures and documents, displaying the legend of the last emperor and his life in Tianjin.
