Beijing's subway lines will extend its rush-hour operations leading up to and during the Second Belt and Road Forum on International Cooperation from April 25 to 27.

According to the municipal transport authority, several metro lines in the urban area will add a total of 156 temporary trains to ensure smooth transit for commuters.

From April 24 to 30, the airport express line will add 32 trains per day and increase its overall passenger capacity by 18.8%.

Spare trains will also stand by in major stations like Gongzhufen and Wangfujing in case of heavy passenger flows. On April 26 and 30, four temporary trains will be added in the Beijing South Railway Station after the routine operation hour to meet passengers arriving late at night.

During the BRF, 220 buses will be added across the city, and major manpower will be directed to transportation hubs like Deshengmen and Dongzhimen stations.

The transport authority said it will also aim for over 80 percent of the taxis in the city to be available during the forum, in order to meet increasing demand at major railway stations, airports, and conference centers for the BRF.

It also vowed to further improve taxi operations and management and avoid service refusals, detours, and fare bargaining.
