The journalists were invited by the conference media center and the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal People's Government. They come from eight countries including Pakistan, Mongolia, and Cambodia.

They visited the expressway to Beijing's new airport, Daxing International Airport. The 27-kilometer expressway set a record in the city's expressway construction as it won the approvals for its design and the entire project as well as began construction in the same year, according to the construction company. The expressway also adopted new technologies and building materials to build a smart tolling system.

A section of the expressway is part of a multifunctional overpass shared by a new subway line to the airport, the surface artery Tuanhe Road, a multifunction underground channel and the Beijing-Xiongan high-speed railway. The 7.9-kilometer overpass structure is the first of its kind in China.

The visiting journalists said they were impressed with the projects, and gave praise for how the projects reflected Beijing's high-quality development.
