The exterior finish on the main terminal of Beijing Daxing International Airport has been all but completed, according to Xiong Jifu, deputy manager of the terminal project from Beijing Urban Construction Group.

In recent days, Beijing has experienced hot weather, with ground temperatures exceeding 30 degrees Celsius. Despite this, with less than 40 days to go before the June 30 deadline for construction of the main terminal, workers have continued fine-tuning the angle of the exterior panels to produce a smooth, reflective ceiling curve. Xiong follows the progress of the project closely, inspecting each work site daily.

According to Xiong, with the exterior decoration basically complete, the main terminal will now enter the inspection and approval phase. "Every second counts, and we must accomplish the construction of the main terminal as scheduled," Xiong said.
