A panel discussion addressing the high-quality development of the 17+1 Cooperation between China and Central Eastern European Countries (China-CEEC) was held in Beijing on June 5 in Beijing. Attendees included researchers from the Chinese Academy of Social Science, China Development Bank and Tsinghua University, to name a few.

The discussion addressed the influence and potential challenges of 17+1 Cooperation as Greece became the 18th member of the cooperation mechanism earlier this April.

Cui Hongjian, director of the Department for European Studies of China Institute of International Studies, stressed the high-quality development of this transregional cooperative mechanism in his keynote speech.

"With northeast China's Liaoning province to host the 9th China-CEEC Summit next year, the cooperation between the two sides is expected to see an improvement," Cui said.

Besides the panel discussion, European speakers also addressed issues concerning China's investment in CEE countries.
