The Luohu government held a conference on school renovation and expansion projects on June 4. Luo Yude, head of the Luohu government, presided over the meeting attended by Song Yan, Song Qiang and Li You, all senior officials of the district government, as well as representatives of relevant departments.

This year, Luohu will accelerate its school renovation and expansion projects in five schools - Buxin Primary School, East Lake Middle School, Taojinshan Primary School, Songquan Middle School and Shuiku Primary School, to further improve the infrastructure facilities of these schools, according to the conference.

The school renovation and expansion is an important part of Luohu's education reform. This year is the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Luohu district. As a pioneer of reform and opening-up, Luohu is committed to building the country's first-class modern education system with Luohu characteristics.

The conference required all relevant departments to further optimize and improve their respective planning and work schedule and to modernize the schools featuring complete functions and rich atmosphere of humanism.

The conference urged the officials to prioritize work safety and environmental protection of these projects, implement a strict work safety accountability system and minimize the projects' influence on normal teaching activities.

The related departments are encouraged to make good use of the summer and winter vacations, improve their work efficiency and ensure these projects are finished in time while guaranteeing the projects' quality.
