The Beijing section of the Beijing-Xiongan Intercity Railway started test runs Thursday after comprehensive preparations.

The Beijing section of the railway, with a length of 33.97 kilometers, starts at Liying Railway Station in Beijing's Daxing district and ends at Daxing International Airport. The designed speed of the section is 250 kilometers per hour, and a one-way trip between Beijing West Railway Station and Daxing Airport takes around 20 minutes.

As the basis for further adjustments and improvements to gear up for the operation of the railway, the test runs will last until the end of September.

Daxing International Airport Railway Station was constructed to facilitate the operation of the Beijing-Xiongan Intercity Railway. Covering a floor space of 115,000 square meters, this underground railway station accommodates passengers of both the intercity railway and the new airport. It has two underground floors with signs directing passengers to all the facilities, and an information desk will provide further services for passengers.
