The 20th China Food Festival will kick off in Nanchang, capital city of east China's Jiangxi Province from Nov. 1 to 3, with the aim of helping poor areas increase incomes through food exhibitions and procurement.

"Most of the raw and accessory materials needed in the catering industry are primary agricultural products, and the large-scale purchase of those products from poor areas can effectively increase the income of local farmers," said Han Ming, director of China Hospitality Association.

During the expo, exhibit fees will be waived for exhibitors from poor areas. Organizers will provide opportunities for catering enterprises through business discussions.

A forum on the quality of China's catering will be also included in the festival, and topics such as its future trends, new business models and supply chain management will be discussed.
