The 2019 Beijing-Taiwan Beautiful Village Forum opened in Beijing's Miyun district. Qi Jing, a member of the Standing Committee of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, attended the opening ceremony. 

With the theme of "Bee, Industry, and Ecology," the forum aims to strengthen communication and cooperation between Beijing and Taiwan province on the bee industry and the development of beautiful and eco-friendly villages. The forum was previously a sub-forum of the Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum, which was founded in 2004. During this year's event, guests from Beijing and Taiwan province gave keynote speeches and joined in discussions on improving environment and developing leisure industry in villages. 

The forum welcomed 102 guests from eight industry associations of Taiwan province. Cheng Chin-kuan, president of the Taiwan Beekeeping Association, said the Chinese mainland has a rich history in apiculture and a thriving bee industry. He said that he wishes to apply what he has learned here to advance the bee industry in Taiwan.  

The results of an essay contest on issues of Taiwan's bee industry was announced at the opening ceremony. A press tour of Beijing's beautiful countryside was also kicked off during the forum.
