China's Ministry of Education on Thursday made public eight typical cases involving teachers at different levels of educational institutions who violated their codes of conduct.

The involved misconducts include physical punishment, sexual harassment, sexual assault, and accepting gifts or money.

The ministry last year issued three 10-point codes of conduct for teachers at kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, as well as higher education institutions.

Other prohibited behaviors include providing out-of-school tutoring services, teaching primary school subjects to preschool children, and academic cheating.
